Your own program CATALOG
For those which wish to install their own catalogue of the Belgian standards,
here how to do:
Note: before starting, see "Basic Configuration" (PDF
or HTML)
-
Installation of the basic program (once)
Save the file "LOCAL.ZIP"
(412K) in a sub-directory, e.g. " cat ".
Once saved, cut your Internet connection and go to the MS-DOS prompt.
Locate the sub-directory where you saved " LOCAL.ZIP " (for example
" cat "). Decompress it using " pkunzip ".
Type " INSTALL " + ENTER and follow the instructions on the screen.
Once the basic program installed, verify if it has the FOUR sub-directories
" DATA, EXE, TMP and COM ".
If all is OK, reconnect you to Internet and continue with item 2.
-
Addition of a file " HELP "
Save the file "GUIDEBEC.ZIP"
(357K) into the new sub-directory " \catalog\EXE ".
-
Entering " DATA "
Do the same with the file "DATABEC.ZIP"
(>1651K), BUT save it in the sub-directory " \catalog\DATA ".
Note: an update for "DATABEC" will be carried out every
THREE months (last update: October 6, 2000).
After having carried out the last two points, cut the Internet connection
and go to the MS-DOS prompt.
Unzip " GUIDEBEC " in the sub-directory " \catalog\EXE " and " DATABEC
" in the repertory " \catalog\DATA ".
Launch the program " CATALOG " by typing, in the sub-directory " \catalog\EXE
" the command " CATALOG ".
Once the program launched, enter for " User " the word " BEC ", for
" Password " nothing (leave the field empty), for " Station " the number
" 1 " and for " Date " the current date if it is not displayed automatically
(use the form "dd/mm/yy").
Go then to the function " 931 - Index on " and start it to reindex
the data base (that can take several minutes).
Once reindexed, you can use the program, for example by choosing the
function " 310 - Consult catalog ". A function " help " is available by
pressing F1.
Good luck!
