Installation of the diskette "BEC Catalogue@ 1. Minimal conditions of the system
C Version DOS 3.3 or higher
C Minimal memory RAM: 460 Kbyte
C Minimal hard disk capacity: 15 Mbyte (this capacity is of course dependent of the
volume of the catalogue which  is distributed by the BEC and will increase in the future).
2. Adjustment preliminaries of the system
Stand-alone computer (without connection with a network)   Check, in file CONFIG.SYS, if the following command is present/correct: FILES = 99.

Check, in file AUTOEXEC.BAT, if the command SHARE.EXE exists; if so, correct it to SHARE.EXE/F:4096/L:99.

Network

The number of files available on the network must be 99 at least; look in the network documentation how this adjustment must be carried out. For a NOVELL network this adjustment is done while placing, in file SHELL.CFG (or NET.CFG), the command FILE HANDLES = 154.

C Introduce the installation diskette into the diskdrive A: (or B:) and press ENTER,
C Type INSTALL + ENTER
C At the question on which Adrive@ and in which Adirectory@ the installation must be done one can - but one does not have - answer by another location than the standard location, in particular on Adrive@ C: AND in "directory@ CATALOG.
C The installation continues automatically.
4. Starting the program
Start the program in Adirectory@ X **:\CATALOG\EXE (except if the installation was carried out in another Adirectory@) with the command CATALOG and ENTER.

Don't forget that to start the username "BEC" must be introduced with a "blanco" password.

The first time that the program CATALOG is launched, a Aindexing@ function is automatically started (indexing is necessary to carry out the sorting of the various files. If indexing does not start automatically, use, in the program CATALOG, the function A931 - Index on@.

Use preferably a menu item in order to start the catalogue in a simpler way, e.g. "310 - Consult Catalog".
